"time you old gypsy man
will you not stay
put up your caravan
just for one day"
'fraid not
time rushes by
accelerating at the end
peers pop off the perch
your turn next
now you have nothing to lose
buy a stash
of the most expensive nougat bars
eat mango ice cream every day
wear flowers in your hair
tell con at the fruit shop
how bewdiful he is
how you would never shop
anywhere else
even for a bargain price
to mind the shop for a cuppla days
whenever he wants to take a break

Love your poetic response ... the beauty in aging is that sooooo many things absolutely do not matter ~ anymore! Granny with the flowers in her hair is delightful!!
ReplyDeleteA vagabond gypsy is a compelling analogy for time, which does seem to accelerate at the end, even as we try to push it away!
ReplyDeleteFun poem
ReplyDeleteLove the message in your poem Carpe diem as time rushes by and yes wear flowers in your hair. That lady looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, to the peers popping off the perch! And yes, all the more reason to enjoy what we can while we can.
ReplyDeleteJoys should always be savored. If you have to rush through them, what's the point?
ReplyDeleteLOVE the image of the old lady ... and that cat!
ReplyDeleteThe Flower Power Lady has no fear of peers popping off their perches - she means to be around for ever. Yay!
ReplyDeleteA gal indeed my lady is .....I also liked the poetry pics that equally flow beautifully
