thou cream faced loon

to the driest continent on earth
where summer is known for its
ferocious heat and blistering

hot thoughts begets hot deeds
hot headed?
Thou art as witty as a runcible spoon
fare thee well as i enter the dreamtime
rounded with a sleep
Good night!

with
troy donahoe
the everly bothers
or
elvis presley
DAY 30

Way to go, writing your way through poetry month. I love the pic that says in old age doing errands counts as going out. So true.
ReplyDeleteI like contemplating the idea that no one likes to be compared to the driest continent on earth. And yes, I would imagine hot blood WOULD beget hot thoughts! Good for you for continuing to write through another poetry month!
ReplyDeleteRall, it looks like you had a blast writing poetry. This getting older stuff is had to deal with... tell me about it! LOL!! 💗
ReplyDeleteThe Popes foes will die laughing.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! I particularly like "Thou art as witty as a runcible spoon"!
ReplyDeleteA delight to read as you weave your way through poetry month with wit and humor!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dora
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful as usual (how could I resist reading past Day 27?) and a great start to my day. Thanks, too, for the reminder of that wonderful scene from Sherlock. (And er, yes, errands do count as going out these days.)
ReplyDeleteFrom beginning to end ... a reader's treat!!! Sneering through those white teeth ~~ desperation indeed. Enjoy your weekend, Rall. I am impressed with your commitment to 30 days of poems. I tried once years ago, did finish ... swore I would never put that much pressure on myself ever again.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your humorous writings (the pope and rainbow clown) as well as the Sherlock clip. :)
ReplyDeleteSo much poetry to love...love your descriptions of the pope and clown.
ReplyDeleteI think that Swiss Guard looks as if he's protecting the Pope from lack-of-laughter, which would be a serious responsibility. I hope the Pope does have some opportunities to laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteJust Amazing
ReplyDeleteYou have a point about the Swiss Guard. Love all the photos,
ReplyDeleteand writing here, Rall. The old age quote is right on the money.
“my eyes are hanging out of my head
ReplyDeletethrough lack of sleep”
I understand that feeling!
