Tanka Tuesday No 34

thirteen days of rain
autumn has stopped its weeping
the sun shines weakly
clothes dryers working full pelt
how did they manage before

our grans did it tough
hanging the clothes out on rope
between two gum trees
sturdy stock  kept on going
through storms hail stones wind and rain

  1. Clothes on the line caught in the rain get an extra rinse :)

  2. I have a clothes rack that I can pull up to the ceiling in the laundry; stuff dries there. Also have the rope. Plus Melbourne hasn't had your rain.
