eight weeks
till spring
eight weeks of
beanies
bed socks
scarves
coats
frost on the windows
coughing and sneezing
(no one wears masks)
even the chooks
have caught the flu
as for the flies midges and mozzies
they're keeping their powder dry
resting up in preparation
for the summer onslaught
and to top it all off
saw the Biden / Trump debate
knew that was a mistake
the only solution
cuddle a cat
or even a person
by the fire
drink hot chocolate
and pray
to a sane and merciful
GOD

I didn't watched the live debate. Didn't think I could survive it. This morning proved that even the bits shared on NPR with commentary weren't safe. What a sad state of affairs.
ReplyDeleteI shall keep my thoughts on steel cut oats, hot chocolate (in front of the fan), and fresh fruit.
Hard to believe the reality of this nightmare state of affairs....Rall
ReplyDeleteI do NOT watch debates. I do NOT pay any attention to polls. I said from day one, Biden needed to NOT run for reelection. So there. I am sitting at my desk trying to imagine frosty cold. While dreading the prospect of it come late October. Cheers. [I DO vote.]
ReplyDeleteI would vote for Harry the Horse rather than Trump. It is still mind boggling to me that someone like him could have ever been nominated as a candidate for the Presidency let alone become the President....Good luck Helen ! ...Rall
DeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteBiden or Trump? Either way we're doomed.
ReplyDeleteIt’s so hot in the part of the world where I am. Thanks for this postcard from winter.
ReplyDeleteAgreed - cats, fires, and all good things.
ReplyDeleteI'll hug my dog, and ignore the five wasted minutes of watching the debate.
ReplyDeleteThis mortal life is so precarious, all anyone can ever do is pray!
