• “tranquil (nodoka, all spring).”
• #2: “cats in love (neko no koi, early spring).”
• #3: “birds enter clouds (tori kumo ni iru, mid spring).”

 a tranquil setting

wattle blooms early again

springtime has arrived

sydney dresses up for spring

always wears her sunday best

 TANKA 2

these two in love  cats

think they are doing it tough

because their slaves serve

 "canned" salmon not fresh sometimes

and the birds make too much noise 

 

TANKA 3

 

noisy  butcher birds 

if only they would enter

the clouds and stay there

instead of interrupting

our cat naps with raucous squawks
