i suppose
i could write about
my travel adventures
living in other countries
seeing incredible sights
of art architecture and history
meeting interesting people
but for me
(probably because i am
at the pointy end of life)
the memory that affords me the
greatest pleasure,most joy and peace
as a child
was pegging out the washing
on beautiful spring afternoons
with my darling grandmother
time with her was the most important
influence in my life
no person i have ever known
was more interesting than she was
yet this unassuming woman
never ventured far from her home
was happy to be there

That's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour grandmother gave you an important treasure. Memories of pure peace are rightly to be savored, particularly in the "pointy" part of life.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a wonderful memory that is - warm and sunny in itself - and thank you for your lovely comment at mine - Jae
ReplyDeleteAw! That sounds like a lovely memory.
