Day 26 .... Empathy
i watch his face
as he sees neighbours
driving their cars
as he sees the walkers
stride by with their dogs
the surfers in their wet suits
boards tucked under their arms
a passing parade of what was once,,, for him
i feel his pain
the thrust of a knife blade in my heart
the price of love
DAY 27 ... RXC # 378
SISTERS...RENOIR
often wondered
about the title of that painting
until i remembered you telling me
your secret in the staffroom
in a very nonchalant manner
your desk next to mine
all those years ago
can't remember your name
can barely remember what you looked like
but remember that disclosure vividly
me appearing calm and seemingly unfazed
a practised professional guise

Oh, these moments really stick on. A government officer whom I offered a ride because his car had broken down, confessed how and why he turned corrupt. We were stuck in a traffic jam and I don't know how and why he trusted me enough to spill out secrets.
