MLMM... MONDAY WORDLE # 431

room leafy past chime chatter ambience decades long melody willow time sane

it's been a long time
decades in fact
since i heard the willow song
its haunting melody
a chime from the past
from an era more sane
bearing memories of leafy venues
pleasant chatter
room to breathe

bingo
alice looks rather frantic
her eyes ringed in hookah blue
hates these hotel tea parties
her cult following is hard to deal with lately
what with the rabbit all ears and neurotic running about
with a pocket watch declaring he is late again
wastes too much time hanging out in the orange grove
with creepy chicken and meanie mushroom

_What's Going On...

Inspired by " Pray For Peace" a poem by Ellen Bass

Yearning for Peace?

then pray for peace
make all the simple things
in a humdrum everyday life
a huge prayer offering
no weapons or violence  required
just

"make your slicing of carrots a holy act
translucent layer of the onion a deeper prayer"

even better
chop chop chop the onions
to the musical accompaniment of Purcell's|
Sound the Trumpet

"make the brushing of your hair
every strand its own voice
singing in the choir on your head"
smile at strangers
welcome strangers|

speak out  with dignity
be heard
without resorting to expletives
unlike the  fraudulent| flatulent
f bomb dropping fiasco leader
of the former free world

protect the vulnerable
emanate warmth kindness and hope
give thanks for the gentleness of water|

"the softest thing on earth"

let each step to the letterbox
be a prayer of thanks for our legs
so many blown apart in wars

cherish the beauty and sacredness
of our natural environment
the flora and the fauna

the land and sea

be a giver
keep on praying
keep on giving
give give give
MEAPOP
make earth a planet of peace

ALFRED and MARK DELLER (father and son team ) sing SOUND THE TRUMPET by PURCELL

twas discouraging
looking at those patient records again
going down the chute like that
hinders recovery
time to sprout some purposeful positivity
take a punt have a bet
watch the state of origin on the tele
or even better take to the trail and go camping
better still buy some solar panels for the house
that she's been wanting for ages
buy her a big bunch of yellow roses
kiss her lovely oval wrinkled face
tell her she's beautiful
live high on the hog for once
take her out to a fancy restaurant
spoil her rotten

Sammi Cox. Weekend Writing Prompt # 421... Limerence

what is limerence

not  lemonade nor a limerick
not a lust bucket's love story...
nor for sensible grownups
could be a flirtation with irish romance
certainly not  with st. patrick.....
limerence is a fascination for a need not easily met
a delicious fantasy feeding on imagination
not suited to the pragmatic  or regimented
something more for the impractical poet and dreamer....
pie in the sky over the moon stuff
away with the pixies dancing on rainbows
destined for disappointment and tears
until a fast recovery
makes way for the next time

my grandmother
in the kitchen
always wore a big apron
singing tino rossi songs and
chopping vegetables
her little helper watching
learning the secrets
of french cuisine
very important she said
for good health and
for catching a good husband
never leave stalks on the parsley
never make mayonnaise
when there's a full moon
i inherited
a lot of eccentricity
from my grandmother

SMITTEN...HOOK LINE & SINKER

he was very eccentric
a bee keeper
a lego champion
a brilliant violinist
an academic translator
of ancient greek tracts
owned a cabin in the mountains
which he made from yellow wagon wheels
the walls covered in satirical slogans
and photos of his grandfather who was
a famous british informer in WW2

she often  wondered why she kept him on
and not break up with such a mad hatter
well if the truth be known
he was drop dead gorgeous
and when he played the bach double violin concerto
there was no turning back

Weekend Writing Prompt # 420....

Sammi Cox's Weekend Writing Prompt

like a balloon
her broken heart popped  and fizzled
how could she have got it so wrong

was she having a faure fantasy moment
imagining him being in love with her
blurring  fantasy and fiction again
probably
she had always been a hopeless romantic
head in the clouds
reality was never her strong suit

Elephants Child....WEDNESDAY WORDS

turkish delight tennis asparagus yellow brook officers steps conclusion pan earliest melon

in the officers mess
steps will be taken
to improve the poor hygiene
at the earliest possible date

there lurks filthy frying pans overflowing
with old yellow asparagus water melon
coated with turkish delight left over
from anzac day

i can only reach the conclusion
there is more babbling going on in  here
than the babbling brook outside
the tennis court

MLMM ..MONDAY WORDLE # 428..#429

# 428 side love cools time beyond melodic sings rainbow one gone blink embrace

time
is not on their side
one blink
and youth  has gone
disappearing beyond the rainbow
yet
his passionate embrace cools not
his question sings love
her melodic response
more scherzo than appassionato

# 429 ... shimmering stream surface solo starry stay sunny solar sea simple start so
on the surface
it seemed so simple
no point in making a start
if he was not going to stay

a solar eclipse
of negative thoughts streamed
across her mind
usually a  bright
positive starry night

even though her trip
was solo and sometimes lonely
tomorrow could be a sunny day
with a sea shimmering with hope

What's Going On .....Contradictions

SHADORMA...CONTRADICTIONS

at last she
had found her soul mate
it made her
very sad
it had been a very long
wait her entire life

she had found
happiness at last
so short lived
filled with smiles
and joy but now the ferry
across the styx calls

https://newwhatsgoingon.blogspot.com

W3 Prompt..... #162

she had given up hope
long ago
of ever meeting her special person
resigned herself to a life without him
it was not her fate
her requirements were
too difficult
too unusual
too esoteric
yet somewhere hidden
she still kept  a half  eye open
to the  impossible possibility

she liked to read about love
feel it vicariously in music and film
still
she did not see much of it about
in real life
suspected it only existed for
the fortunate few
until she unexpectedly stumbled
across him

she had found her other half
and at this late stage too
bells and whistles
elation
ecstatic
it had been a long time since
she found herself smiling
for no reason
still
even if nothing came of it
she was thrilled to have had that experience
before her not too distant appointment with the ferry man
and his ride across the styx

Wordle # 437....MLMM

legal quiet letter lived never deeds joke alone struggle delivered keys friend

mostly alone
lived quietly now
sometimes kind deeds or words
from  the occasional stranger
alleviated the struggle
she never gave up hope of
finding her soul mate friend
so when she found him
she delivered the keys
to her heart with a signed legal letter
placed it underneath his doormat
took a deep breath
and hoped he would not think this a joke
