Dancing In The Dark
a glamorous elegant time
seen in black and white movies
favourites even as a child
everyone well dressed
good looking
gliding across the dance floor
to great songs like
dancing in the dark
nightclubbing in the 30s
i love the idea of
dancing in the dark
with a chap who
could dance like fred astaire
sadly
left my run too late
would no doubt result
in a bed situation
not a desirable one
a hospital bed
from a slip and fall

Oh I think you would pull those dance moves off splendidly ... no injuries allowed! Love where you took the challenge, Rall.
ReplyDeleteI greatly enjoyed the poem, the music, and the divine dancing.
ReplyDeleteMy very first husband (of three) was a champion ballroom dancer, with trophies to prove it, and could make even tone-deaf, uncoordinated me look and feel good on the dance floor. Alas, we were ill-suited in many ways and the marriage didn't last long, but there are some lovely things like that to remember.

ReplyDeleteLOL, sadly I do all my night dancing at family events only. But I do love those golden age of Hollywood dance numbers.
ReplyDeleteDreamdancing is the only dance I can manage these days, Thanks R
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this, Helen (Sara)
