TANKA
want to feel like this
when it is my time to go
music speaks to me
much more than words ever can
tis my greatest love of all
more than memories
more than the one i adore
more than anything
it has saved my life and the
reason i am still here now

I love that song, Rall.........and relate to your poem. Music has been so important to me too. A dear friend of mine, with whom I composed a few of his songs, towards the end of his life began creating beautiful chants, and they were playing as he left this life, as if, his wife said, they were created solely for those hours.
ReplyDeleteAh, music!

What power it has in your life! I believe it speaks more than words, more than anything. Happy New Year, Rall! May it be filled with music.
Thank goodness for the music!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad last verse - And I really hope you have many more reasons to dance in all possible ways- including in your words - Jae
ReplyDeleteI also look to music when I need "shoring up" and depending on the circumstance I always find the perfect musical "fix." I value you, Rall .. more than you might know.
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen.
DeleteMusic does bring us peace in the journey. I hope upon you exit you hear a beautiful song. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLovely, tanka, Rall. Life without music is unimaginable!🙂
ReplyDeleteAccording to our ancient texts music is considered "a potent spiritual path to the Divine". In the poem I see music as a life giving force. Lovely, Rall.
ReplyDeleteMusic is necessary, and can ease sadness as well.
