THE SKEPTICS KADDISH W3 prompt @ 197....Erasure poems

 SHAKESPEARE POEM 1

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no, it is an ever-fixèd mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand’ring bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his heighth be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

SONNET 116
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

ERASURE POEM 1

marriage
O,no
it is an ever edge of doom error
upon me
proved i never  ever loved

SHAKESPEARE POEM 2

Take O take those lips away
That so sweetly were forsworn,
And those eyes, the break of day,
Lights that do mislead the morn:
But my kisses bring again,
Bring again—
Seals of love, but seal’d in vain,
Seal’d in vain!

– William Shakespeare

ERASURE POEM 2

Take O take those away
Break lights
mislead the morn
Bring seals

love

  4. Rall — I love how “I never ever loved” flips the original on its head; it feels raw to me. And “Break lights / mislead the morn” keeps echoing in my mind.

    Much love,
