shall I compare thee to a summer fest
hardly there are too many cream faced loons about already
self love abounds partnered by obsessive zest pests
our society's ship teetering unsteady
power and greed the order of the day
survival of the fittest dog eat dog
it's the way we live and sadly we 'll pay
there's no clean air we breathe polluted smog
why dont we learn to care for our planet
and show true love for ourselves
for our flora our fauna little john and janet
for blinky bill and santa's mischievous elves
we must do it now or it will be too late
if we don't we'll be doomed to a terrible fate

If we can't love ourselves then there is no hope that we can find a way to love this planet!! Well said!
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder, indeed taking care of our beautiful Earth is a form of self-care! Thanks for joining!

Great take, Rall. Your poem and all Pics are so touching. What we will do without all flora and fauna. Loved your take on Shakespere. :):)
ReplyDeleteRall, that turn from “shall I compare thee…” to “our society’s ship teetering unsteady” really lands for me. Playful and pointed at the same time!
