INTRODUCING THE GROSS SIR LES PATTERSON
MAD WOMAN'S BREAKFAST
It seems
that it is preferable to eat sludge
at a mad woman's breakfast
with questionable company
than indulge in fine dining with one
'A chacun son gout' dit
Madame Sosostris to dear Mr.Equitone.

POETIC ASIDES PROMPT 'NEVER AGAIN'...APRIL 10

Clarisse Becket
NEVER AGAIN
It only takes a song to spin back
the windmills of your mind on a rainy Sunday afternoon
It only takes a song to have you
floundering in a king tide of memories
Too many times too many times
too many waterfalls of scalding tears
too many dark afternoons of despair
I have not forgotten that dumping that tonne weighted wave
breaking my back drowning me in turbulent white water
I didn't see it coming
MEMORIES
I do remember that heady rush of excitement
at seeing your face approaching from the crowd
with an enormous bunch of red roses
I do remember turning my head to quickly rearrange
my expression for fear of bursting with happiness
praying that my pounding heart beating noisely
like flapping wings would not be audible
And
I do remember, with your lips pressed to the nape of my neck
and your arms wrapped around my waist, recklessly burying
my normally alert antennae in all that joy and bliss
finding myself rudderless on that comet ride
through the galaxy, dancing on the rim of the moon
It was all too wonderful
and it came at such a cost

Napowrimo 8... Nursery Rhyme Prompt

Jack Spratt
Jack Spratt could eat no fat
his wife could eat no lean
Jack fell down and broke his crown
his wife was really mean
" No more hot cross buns for you "
she said and licked the platter clean
" You and Humpty Dumpty
are mill stones round my neck
As far as I'm concerned my dear
you'd be better off with Beck
You know, the old woman who
lives in a shoe
who has so many children she is
always looking for someone new."

FOR THE WEEKEND
K D LANG for Last Weekend as well.
3WW
nothing helpless about K D Lang
a persuasive voice,not too loud
laden with melodic riches
sans shoes performing diva
knows how to wow an audience
I like her spirit
I wish she lived next door to me
you could leave your shoes outside
and know they would not be nicked
