Vivienne Eliot

Vivienne Eliot

The poet T.S.Eliot had a wife. Vivienne, an intelligent vivacious but very eccentric woman  was carted off to the lunatic asylum because she failed to answer the following oral question correctly in her assessment by two doctors. TS Eliot and his brother in law were complicit in having her incarcerated. They both signed the committal form.Vivienne's brother admitted many years later that TS Eliot and he had done the wrong thing. He had gained financially from her incarceration. He blamed T S Eliot for pressuring him into it.

Question: There was a greasy pole 10 yards high.A little brown monkey wanted to climb it. He climbed three yards in the day but slipped back two yards at night. How many days did it take to climb the pole?

If you are unable to give an  instant correct response to this question you had better hide under the bed when the van with two men in white coats arrive.

The Yowie is a mythical boogeyman who roams the  Australian Outback. There have been several eye witnesses  who swear on a stack of bibles that it is true (chuckles )....probably having just imbibed several dozen schooners at the local pub.
