Brits Do Humour Best

This post is for a British blogging friend of mine who has a warm, wicked sense of humour and very nice feet!

3WW....drench immune radiate

'Hi,I'm a doctor' he said
chat chat chat
'My wife's a bit of an old trout I'm afraid!"
Her immune system is shot from drugs I brought home in a coconut as a joke.
I'm off to a leper colony tomorrow in Nairobi. Care to join me?"

Her good eye sparkled and for the first time in decades she radiated that fuzzy glow. Unexpectedly a drenched vision in the shape of silk bloomer'd Dolly appeared before her all in a tizz.

Suddenly running off with a complete stranger to a leper colony in Africa held enormous appeal.

  2. It is a very funny clip Sheilagh...but might only appeal to Brit types.

The original 'Brief Encounter' is a sort of B grade cult movie...it is so bad it is good ( if you know what I mean:)It was one of Princess Diana's favourite movies. This may not be a rcommendation.

If it were me I'd choose the Doc over Dolly too:)

  3. We are indeed a funny bunch - there is a lot to laugh at..we rarely pass a summer without some kind of civil disobedience..have you seen 'DinnerLadies'..that was corking..Jae

  4. Hey yeah...that civil disobedience is a real hoot:)I don't think....Think big tanks,I say!

I have not seen "Dinner ladies" but on your recommendation Jae I will...

'we must be sensible darling'which comes from the original Noel Coward movie has become a mantra in our household.I know this has nothing to do with anything but I just had to fit this in somewhere:)

  5. My computer has fizzled in the area of sound and I am too whatever to get it fixed. In the first place this is the second crash in a very short time and since I can nurse it along in other areas more important to me, that's that... :(

I like the idea of running off to an African leper colony...

  6. Quel surprise Christopher! It's been a long time since you have visited here.My poem does not make much sense without viewing the video.

Running off to a leper colony in Africa is not a great idea Christopher If you're going to do a runner...I recommend a South Pacific island.
    Don't be a stranger!

  7. It was certainly the type of wartime humour that permitted you to actually forget the war! Perhaps the British were able to see that life is so ridiculous it should be laughed at. What a treat this was.

  8. Thanks oldegg.I very much appreciate your support and generous comments.

Agree with the concept that life is ridiculous and should be laughed at and never taken too seriously....

Humour is the weapon of the suppressed and unarmed and most effective in insettling an opponent.
