Music At Lunchtime

a bit nostalgic
at lunchtime
on a Monday

in a paddock
listening
to strains
of the past

burst sunshine
not too hot
cool breeze
buzz of bees
in the daisies

big skies
cotton wool clouds
at a touch
to the horizon
acres and acres
of space

I could strip off
and dance a flamenco
here without prying eyes
and would
except for the ticks

the cows love this
eyes softening
to the groove
of the Isley Bros

not so keen on
flamenco
probably racist:)

  4. What a kick in the pants this poem is! I felt the perfect outdoor ambiance and loved the notion of naked dancing. We do that around here, sometimes. Of course, I have about 650 preserve acres behind my property, so no prying eyes are nearby! ;-)
