Reminds me of a time spent with a dear friend who lives far away, and how on the last day we were just walking and talking. Things seem have this mood color to it. This poem captured the feeling, even the lines and arrangement of words, in the single word lines, one can feel the emotions choke points. Enjoyed the read, thank you for sharing.
"all rugged up in scarves and hats" yeahhhh!!!! that is a killer description. And if the moon is aghast...you are up to no good..cuz the moon usually puts you up to shit like that. Loved this a lot.
I love the ambiguity in the last line - is it being said by the celestial objects remarking at the couple, or by the couple remarking at the star and moon? In either case, the pain of that imminent leaving pervades the piece.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the cosmos being "aghast"! Nice.
