Art is pretty transient, even the tree tires of those love messages inscribed on it. Urban graffiti whether moving or not is an embarrassment on par with Renoir's nudes. However I know which I would prefer to view.
oldegg your comparison with Renoir nudes and urban grafitti is bizarre. You would of course prefer to have Renoir nudes gracing our trains and our walls.Or maybe not?
Kids have died on moving trains aerosoling graffiti Joanne.
better to live for 'your' art..aerosols are tricky to handle when your hands are cold..subversiveness however..always good ;)
ReplyDeletedon't die for your art, that is definitely not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHmm Why am I not surprised jaerose that you are familiar with graffiti.I come from the era of carving love messages in trees.
ReplyDeleteI have seen some incredible urban graffiti art, but no one died for it!

Succinctly put.
ReplyDeleteWell, better dying for your art than killing with it, but art is life so... live for it!
