Yes indeed. I have been spared. My house is still there although 53 houses have gone in the area. My neighbour sent me some photos. I must go back which I do not want to do - to clean up the mess. Evidently everything is black from the soot from the fire storm. Oh well..drought and flooding plains, bush fires all par for the course. Country Life! A bit different from the magazine.
You know Cosmo, you are the only person that comments on a post that is not a poem submitted to a poetry site. You are coming across as a real person... the flesh and blood variety(doubtless you have heard of them)I even remember them myself. Don't change..I like it!
Oops..sorry Doddles. You see how fickle I am..I had forgotten all about you. Out of sight ..out of mind! Thank you for the prayer. It did work (for me at least...not for the others) . St. Clare is very broad minded because I had a village of Hindus praying as well..surprised she let me through knowing this:)You must be freezing your poor little scrawny bird butt off in all that snow. I'm off to the beach now. Will think of you breast stroking in the harbour today. Take care, Keep warm dikkie.X
For Poem A Day in April I must find a new muse. I am going to ask Cosmo.Dodo was my muse last year. He however ditched me for a psycho lesbian arab dancer so I will not be musing him again. If Cosmo accepts ,he is going to find it hard to top that when he ditches me.
Lol too...I miss your spirit of adventure. Poor Cosmo seems very tentative nervous at the prospect.Thank you for assuring him that he will be in safe hands.
Of course I will be writing for an atheist so my poetic freedom will be censored to a certain extent as not to offend his secular sensibilites (not the same as writing for a raunchy old Catholic:)
Ha..Due to my volatile and generally intolerant nature, it is highly unlikely that we will be still chatting by April. I am not known for medium to long term blog relationships:)
BTW: One of the reasons that visitors only come when you post at poetry sites (except the odd ones, sorry) is that your site feed is turned off and people can't subscribe to be notified when you post something new.
Even following you doesn't seem to result in post notification for me.
Have a look at Blogger and see what is in Settings>Other.
Thanks . I have changed the settings but there is nothing on there to say odd people need only reply so I might change it back again if too many sane people respond:)
Photos of terrible bushfires in North West NSW.. Warrumbungles... a week ago ..where I live for some of the time. My house is still there....53 householders lost their properties plus countless numbers of wildlife and stock (sheep) farm machinery and crops.
Stunning. Warming. Until you remember why it's that colour. Then there is a chill.

God help me, said the atheist!
ReplyDeleteDodo: is it a safe mantle to on?
Cosmo, I meant to add that the only people who should avoid being Rallentanda's muse are Calvinists. You need have no fear.
DeleteNo danger there, then.
DeleteInteresting. My muse says I should have a crack at it.

ReplyDeleteOK. We'll regroup late March and see if the position is still open.
ReplyDeleteOK...will do!

ReplyDeleteHey! I can now subscribe to your posts! Woohoo!
DeleteIt gives me a most unreasonable amount of satisfaction to know that, if everyone was like me, I'd be normal.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is unlikely that anyone is like you :).
DeleteFascinating... what's the story to this fire?
