poets united; sunday scribblings: Dverse (2014)
two thousand kilometres
in four days
zipping along turbo charged
streaking through the countryside

at night
the road trains
are lit like Christmas trees
magnificent testaments to santa
against a highway in pitch black
i want to keep going
i want to keep going
wouldn't it be great
just to keep going
we always say this
to each other
and we never do
and we never will
I know that feeling - of just wanting to keep going,........the lure of that road curving ahead........and we never do.

To travel forever can be a dream.. but we always tend to stay put
ReplyDeleteoh yes to keep going - and going - where the road never ends but eventually we want to be home! Great piece. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes! The rhythm, the possibilities! Makes me think a little of the story "Silk Stockings" by Kate Chopin.
