Dream A Little Dream

we are such stuff as dreams are made of
and our little life is rounded with a sleep

when we are young we have so many dreams
the game of life chooses the winners and losers
lord what fools these mortals be

there are some who decide
they do not want to play the game anymore
it is not in the stars to hold our destiny
but in ourselves
who want no part of the chess board
the arbitrary rules  echelons and
requisite paraphernalia

they dream of being left alone
to eke out their days
by the sea having calypso day dreams
in the midday sun lying on a beach
finally disappearing in a puff of smoke
leaving no imprint on the planet
the earth has music for those who listen

stop the world
we're getting off at the next stop

  10. Seeing the lass fast asleep I assumed she had been at the laudanum again. Good to see Bill Shakespeare has got some shades or is the morning after the night before? Your work however is great as usual.
