Swimming

magic underwater world
in a rock pool
a swimmer's peep into heaven

she went missing
on a channel swim
he went searching for her
there was a query
about his intentions

esther williams
is synonymous
with water ballet  b grade movies
high pitched voices and ziegfeld follies
a sort of water logged doris day

  1. I remember Esther she made the water ballet look so ethereal.
...swimming - different strokes for different folks

  2. All three are neat! Where do you find the pictures, and do they come before the words or vice versa? Perfect. I think Doris Day did one swimming movie with Rock Hudson. I had to giggle at the image of her waterlogged! The search for the lost lady--escaped? Drowned? Ha! But my favorite is the first--so true. I hope you had this experience.

    1. I had to look this up as well. I have never actually seen anyone doing this...even in old black and white movies !

  6. Oh I had forgotten how big synchronized swimming was back when I was a kid. We had a Regatta every summer, and synchronized swimming was always a part of it.......I remember we all used to wear those hideous rubber helmet things on our heads too.
