The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest

fearless defiant
the girl kicked the hornet's nest
they fell to their knees

to
all the misogynists
who hide behind
fatherhood
pinstripe professions
doctors
judges
scientists
teachers
social workers

whenever you humiliate
insult a woman naming her
whore
pig
rat
even though you may
never lift a hand to strike her
you expose yourself
as pitiful dross
unworthy to be called a man

  7. For all the thrills of this series of books and films one aspect stood out for me which was how the justice system can be corrupted by ruthless people with influence. This surely happens everywhere, Australia included.

    1. In Australia violence against women has reached epidemic proportions.
One dies every week from domestic violence and one is hospitalised every three hours.

  8. Whew! I love the word "dross." Love your use of this film and this actor/performance to speak of the rights of women! PS. My middle name is Lisbeth. Truly.

  9. Indeed. Very well penned.
Women's rights are of paramount importance. Equality must prevail.
