Basho

carpe diem haiku kai

On his travels Basho befriended  the innkeeper of Yamanaha Hot Springs
He had a son Toyo to whom Basho was attracted. As Basho leaves the inn he writes this haiku especially for Toyo

tonight my skin
will miss the hot spring
it seems colder

Basho

morning glory
basho awakes envigoured
flushed with carnal thoughts

  2. One of the beauties of being a poet is that you can express yourself in words that others interpret at their peril.
