Ukelele Dad

 Midweek Motif  PU

"When a wave of love takes over a human being...such an exaltation takes him that he knows
that he has put his finger on the pulse of the great secret and the great answer"
  Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings

Tuesday Afternoon

i call it my own
this quiet little harbour beach
where i sit watching bobbing boats
on the glassy waves
to soothe my frayed nerves
to breathe the sea air
at the end
of a grey autumn day

ukelele  dad strums  softly
to his bonny girl
crawling along the sand
squealing with delight
at everything
she sees and touches

and dad
well dad is just over the moon
showering his sweet angel
with  treasures that matter
lucky kid

made my day

  19. Lucky kid, indeed! We need a licence to drive a car, own a dog and get married, but no licence to have children...
A beautiful poem, Rall, tender and full of wonderful images.
