You're Fired

Midweek Motif PU

even though
the moon belongs to everyone
the best things in life aren't free
sadly for most of us
a job is required for survival

this charming little outburst
of choreographed
spontaneity
in a city office
would probably
end like this

want food on the table
fruit for the sideboard
bills  paid?
best wear a deep shade
of conformist grey at work

try to fit in
don't stand out
smile and nod
on cue
pay attention
to dress code
ties in particular

  2. "best wear a deep shade / of conformist grey at work"...no wonder our joyful self is out of sight...enjoyed the 'charming little outburst' and the pics, specially the last one :)

  3. The tie joke had even me chuckling...perhaps the trick is in conforming on the outside and wearing fuck you socks or underpants - it's there...you are still saying it but you pay your bills and get to be who you want on your weekends - and of course in your writings..

    1. I am one of those people who does not need logos to send a message. My face expresses it all. As a result certain people want to kill me on sight. Come to think of it my writing has the same effect LOL

  5. Hahaha! A sad truth given with an incredibly creative sense of humor! Thanks for the other perspective on fire.

  6. LOL. Love the cat with the rabbit ears especially. I wear the same expression in a crowd, when I am forced, rarely, to be in one.

  7. Yes, it is so wrong that for so many work is a thing/place to be endured rather than enjoyed.

  8. Hurray! I hear ya! Excellent. Where can I get one of those ties?

  9. As fascinating as Mad Men was initially it did begin to pall in the end. Hard work and creativity are essential and the oddballs can be tolerated so long as there isn't interface with the clients...and importantly it improves output and enthusiasm in the office.

  10. Sadly, what you say is true, probably.

  11. Rall you have captured some of the reactions people have to my occupational kilt wearing.

  14. I wonder why so many people feel threatened by non-conformists, Rall? Even though my appearance is rather dull and gray, the things that come out of my mouth sometimes (especially if I am irked by stupid people) have an effect similar to me having blue dyed hair or wearing my undies over my pants in true Superman fashion. Great read!

  15. LOL...I don' t seem to be able to eradicate the image of you with undies over your pants from my mind. Please...no blue hair :)
