obituary resonant placid
i wonder if
robert wrote
his own obituary
not a placid man
a preacher's son
a gun fighter
from the wild west
his words
resonated so much
with the townsfolk
more than a hundred
showed up for his funeral
the saloon girls
placed a floral tribute
on his grave
every week
sounds like he may have been their protector and this was their tribute to him. Love your poem
ReplyDeletehandsome!
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea..
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story this is.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like an obituary you may prepare yourself - but a good one in a way..and he obviously courted favour with the ladies..never a bad thing...particularly if you only make it to 47!
ReplyDeletenone has done one's own obituary,
ReplyDeletebut maybe in imagination.
A man who was truly missed!
