the flowers that bloom
in the spring tra la
breathe promise of merry sunshine
showering warmth on aging hearts
aglow with spring time love

winter and her woes have gone
violets blue and scented jasmine
trail across the fence
two hearts bloom blaze
push through the thaw and
sing sweet messages to each other

This goes so well with the song~ :)
ReplyDeleteThank you !
DeleteThat's all it takes.
ReplyDeleteCorny but nice:)
DeleteGilbert And Sullivan I mean not your comment:)
DeleteI always feel the performers enjoy Gilbert and Sullivan as much as the audience which is quite a British trait especially as their operas are entertaining throughout without so many boring bits as in others I won't mention.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image. And how wonderful to be linked with overcoming obstacles and happy endings!
ReplyDeletey e a h ...tra..la..la..la..la :)
ReplyDeleteLovely poem.
ReplyDeleteLove it! ❤ Beautifully penned
ReplyDeleteThe song made me smile....that is just how spring feels, after a long winter.....we are just sneaking into ours. Enjoy those blooms for us!
ReplyDeleteWe love those sweet messages.. Alice is a bit befuddled by the notion of mice who aren't made of sugar - I said the messages they send however are sweet and nice :)
ReplyDeleteI had a listen. I still hate Gilbert and Sullivan. (A lifelong failure to appreciate them.) But I do like your poem, which seems to me light-hearted in a much sweeter way!
ReplyDeleteThis aging heart agrees!
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to sing a few "tra la's" myself!
ReplyDeleteWhere is Spring?! We're inundated here in Victoria and the sun seemingly has gone on strike...
ReplyDeleteLovely poem that will have to substitute for the missing season... :-)
