Midweek Motif - Poets United

the world is laden
with too much suffering
its back is broken
we are like lemmings
racing in the direction
of the precipice
o for the touch
of an angel to quell the scorch
of satan in our souls
to drag us out of the mire
into the light
This is real good. There are angels all about.
ReplyDelete"Racing in the direction", says it all. Very thoughtful take on the prompt :)
ReplyDeleteWow Rall ... awesome.
ReplyDelete'back is broken' this is our present day yet there's light...
ReplyDeletePure beauty. Oh! May you be heard, may we find the grace to heal the spine of the world. May I share this poem?
ReplyDeleteYes. So pleased you liked this one.
DeleteWow..intense piece, Rall. It dwells on the aches alright but does not make the world cripplingly devastating!
ReplyDeleteExquisitely written!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. And true.
ReplyDeleteOh yes....we need somehow to find a way to get out of the mire and back into the light!
ReplyDeleteThe touch of an angel would be nice.
ReplyDeleteThis is a spot of golden light in the darkness, Rall!
ReplyDeleteThat's a sentiment and a prayer I can echo! (Even if I would see 'satan' as metaphorical.) Heartfelt!
ReplyDeleteOh yes let us hanker after the Light
ReplyDeleteMuch love...
I wonder: Will God ever tire of dragging people out of the mire?
