he resented her equilibrium
her steadfast unshakeable code
what better way to punish her
than by breaking her fingers
she was a pianist
he was already classified as mentally unstable
stamped and approved
convenient
could do anything he wanted
would never be held responsible
for his actions

One can see an explosion brewing.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent cause. Wish there wasn't a need for it.
ReplyDeleteYes... the white ribbon campaign. Thank you
ReplyDeleteA noble cause.. god knows we need protection from such beasts.
ReplyDeletegreat poem for a worthy cause
ReplyDeleteEww! That's a shocker. As it should be.
ReplyDeleteThis speaks, in an eloquent way, to the importance of making wise choices.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder why those in charge of protecting others don't notice that many monsters hide behind the labels society gives them.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say... I'm flabbergasted. I agree with Sanaa about being protected - at the same tiem we must not let them get away with it.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad that causes like this one have to exist.
ReplyDeleteThis hits close to home, as someone close to me is recovering from a sociopath. Public opinion is on his side, doesn't believe he could do what, in fact, he has done. The brutality of breaking a pianist's fingers.......oh my God.
ReplyDeleteRally, a question I asked you a few years ago. Is it still No? Need not be intense......
Thanks for this poetic revelation, well done Rall
ReplyDeletemuch love...
Hope he gets stopped, imprisoned, and treated badly by the other inmates who love their wives and mothers and girl friends.
ReplyDeleteNice write about a bad practice. Thank you,
..
This is a worthy cause that I wish we didn't need. Sad, deflating words for the sad, deflated world we inhabit.
