throw three coins they say
think before you throw the third
be careful what you wish for

a moonlight dip
in the trevi fountain
plastered in italy

coins - a tradition
to pay the ferry man as
he crosses the river styx
thirty pieces of silver
does not sound like much but then
what is the price for a life
in my day it was a coin
now days the kids issue
a statement of claim

Beautiful. I love the way you did this to express the prompt coin.

ReplyDeleteAh! in the end everything comes down to money!
ReplyDeleteSadly too true !
DeleteThe letter made me roar. Kids are wild glory, aren't they? And the haiku you brought out of the letter is brilliant, it says so much about how things have changed.
ReplyDeleteSuch pearls of wisdom.. your poem!❤️
