Blood Moon

i write to you
on the night of the blood moon
unseen covered by clouds
typing inane snippets of news
on to the page
cheerful rhetoric
always careful to observe
the imposed distance

but truth be known
all i want to do
is curl up next to you
cradled in your arms
close my eyes and
find some peace

  1. Always that desire, intensified by loss. I love the idea of the moon as a fisher of truth.

  4. WOW!!! Absolutely wonderful. And thank you for your astute and kind comment on my edge of the world poem. Your words give me comfort.....and renewed purpose. I am grateful for those who read my words and know me best. My real life people dont seem to know me at all, stuck as they are in family dynamics. Sigh.

  5. The second stanza word perfect. "All I want to do is curl up next to you...."

  8. Indeed, distance is a great barrier and obstructor of intent, but the moon can convey a message to the beloved that reams of paper and gallons of ink cannot...
    Nice write, Rall!
