Spring

Saturday First Day Of Spring - A Walk In The Park

spring arrived early to the party this year
she's been wearing bright yellow for a month

a hen's party in full swing
young girls gathered together
bride to be excited about the big day

the  geese honk and waddle
the swans walk their babies
bikes and horses are everywhere

it's busy and buzzing
everyone's out and about
hey ring a ding a ding
it's spring
and not one lover and his lass to be seen
anywhere

Sunday Second Day Of Spring -

fine weather predicted
sailing and boating day
wrong again
winter has decided to pop in
cold and grey
great afternoon for fur huggers and lounge lizards

coffee toast and venetian cookies
watching a movie reading piles of magazines
from a big comfy bed with lots of cushions
a good way to spend Fathers Day
a pin scratches across the perfect

they have run out of bread and milk

  1. Spring is always a season of hope. How I enjoyed your feast of photos and rhymes. (p.s. Swans babies are cygnets!)

  3. I love reading about spring even though we are rolling toward autumn here.

  4. We are heading into fall in my part of the world, and the lovers have moved near warm campfires at night. No swans either, but plenty of Canada geese :D I think spring birds are nicer.

  6. I love all the beautiful photos and descriptions of the day. My fave is the blustery day and the lie-in with coffee, toast and movies, i plan such a day myself, as a favourite series is running back to back all day. A gift! Luckily, i have provisions on hand. Smiles.

  8. I was at first startled but then remembered you are in the Southern hemisphere! It is getting close to autumn here. I loved your words and your pictures. We have some errant swans that dropped down to shelter in a swamp here, along with the beavers. I think one of them may be sick so they are all staying with it until it dies or improves. The descriptions of day are so full of happiness and hope.

  10. Such wonderful imagery here — I liked the colours and the human response to the seasons. A pleasant read.
