Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #50 Rabindranath Tagore's "where shadow chases light"

This my delight,
thus to wait and watch at the wayside
where shadow chases light
and the rain comes in the wake of the summer
Messengers, with tidings from unknown skies,
greet me and speed along the road.
My heart is glad within,
and the breath of the passing breeze is sweet.
From dawn till dusk I sit here before my door,
and I know that of a sudden
the happy moment will arrive when I shall see.
In the meanwhile I smile and I sing all alone
In the meanwhile the air is filling with the perfume of promise
Rabindranath Tagore
A haiku and troiku based on the above poem.
Haiku
it is promised
the wren's lone song will survive
amidst the struggle
Troiku
it is promised
dark storm clouds will not prevail
the light will shine through
the wren's lone song will survive
in spite of frosts and whirlwinds
snowdrops will emerge
amidst the struggle
of compassion and love

Yes... Yes... And great choice for your inspiration to... Your delicate forms of hope lovely to read on a Sunday afternoon.

ReplyDeleteWe thrive, I think, by clinging to what is promised, even if we see no indication that the promise will come true. Creatures of hope we are!
