Sunday's Whirligig

Wisdom

her youth tainted
by false friends
a bitter green tart time
stale mate

finally feet on the ground
brooming out the dead wood
her only longing now
a ripe mango or a sunny day

This Weeks Words from Stanley Kunitz's
" I Dreamed I'm Getting Old "

youth false bitter green tart time
stale ground dead longing ripe wisdom

  1. Your poem has a natural feel to it, I couldn't tell it was created from a word list. Wonderfully crafted.
