Womens March Sunday

Shadorma

i wonder
how many are bashed
statistics
say a lot
hiding new bruises under
their ornate tattoos

abuse flows
directed at them
by weak men
vile cowards
jealous of their immense strength
wanting to kill them

One out of three women has experienced domestic violence in Australia .

  1. It's vile indeed that these puny little men try to exert control over women through physical and emotional violence. The statistics portray just a number which are oft ignored and end up being a footnote somewhere. How horrible it is that we live in such a world!

  2. That's a shocking Australian statistic. I love this, and the pictures give me hope...whenever people organize and stand up and let their voices be heard, it reinforces the truth that there are a lot more of us than there are of them.

  3. Domestic should never happen...hummmm...how to stop it?

  4. I loathe men who take out their frustration at women 😥

  5. Men: the more violence they've endured, the more violent and bitter they are.

And we *are* a majority...even without the trans, whom some welcome as making us a big *loud* *mean* *violent* majority.

Men who feel an urge to hit women, whether with your fists or a contemptuous "Honey" or a promotion for the guy over the woman who deserves it: Be afraid. Be very much afraid.

  6. Look at all those pink hats. How inspiring. Thanks for this. May patriarchy fall soon, so we can get busy saving the planet.

  7. Good post.
Women are only beginning to find their voices and realize their power.

  8. Powerful write. I do not often use those words as I feel they are overused. I am schocked at the statistic from Australia. But these pics give me hope. We need to stand behind these victims of domestic abuse regardless of where they are from.
