Rapunzel

it wasn't the first time
the crow had dropped by
with a key for rapunzel

wary of  witches
crows bearing gifts
manicured nails
helping hands
locked doors

she preferred
to nap on the road
from time to time
swathed in sky blue
protected by a pair of spiky heels

besides
since her braids were chopped off
the ladder was a better option
if she felt the need for a royal visitor

  1. That was an original take with the Rupunzel reference. I always say be weary of crows bearing gifts. First, you must know the intention of the gift.

  6. I love that the crow came bearing gifts. With chopped off braids, good thing there was a ladder.

  7. I'd be wary of Crows carrying keys. I agree, a ladder will be better. A fun read.

  10. Ha ha on the ending. I read it without seeing the picture first and it holds up without it. A fun archetypal character sketch.
