Wednesday Scribblings # 9

AUSTRALIA'S TOILET ROLL PANIC

oh dear what can the matter be
three old ladies got locked in the lavatory
goodness me no paper at all
aussies have stock piled toilet rolls from the store

oh dear what can the matter be
everyone's tense it's not common sense
we aussies like a good clean arse
this is beginning to sound like a farce

the garden hose will have to do
be resilient creative all the way through
this terrible time wont last forever
driving folks to the end of their tether

one day soon we will look up on high
see millions of toilet rolls
falling from the sky
enough for everyone
woohoo woopy doo

why they are doing it
i wouldn't have a clue

  1. Yes, it's ridiculous. Apparently there was a rumour that the cardboard inner rolls came from China and the Govt would stop them being distributed, so people bought up in fear of running out. I have no idea if that was true.

  2. Common sense and panic--justified or not--don't seem to be the best of friends. Things have been getting just as out of hand in the USA. It is quite puzzling, indeed.

  3. Well, a garden hose on full blast would certainly clean one's behind!

  5. Fear has been cultivated by those with an agenda. While there is a concern, there are far worse threats. In any case, I hope they leave a few rolls for the rest of us.

  6. I sincerely hope that Corona virus is wiped off the face of the earth. Poignant write.

  7. Why toilet rolls? No idea. Now wine...that I understand.

  8. Indians traditionally said water was the answer. Pour over dirty parts, scrub with leaf or bare hand as necessary, then wash hand. Works if you have enough water--and soap.

Muhammad supposedly said, in the absence of water, sand would suffice. Not for me it wouldn't.
