Renoir
she's all smiles
you'd never guess
her new shoes are killing her
her corsets too tight
her patience tested
she's counting on a proposal
this night
(Renoir marries her )
Botticelli
never again
had no idea
this portrait would take so long
i need a drink
vino please
my limp feathers need a
little boost

Yes, sitting for an artist is arduous! I like the way you peek below the surface to what these subjects might really be thinking.
ReplyDeleteThe first poem is so intriguing. At first, I thought her sad and frustrated under the smiles. But a second reading made me realize that although the poem speaks of "her patience being tested" that doesn't necessarily mean that he was the one doing the testing. Maybe it was fashion's fault. Goodness knows fashion can be blamed for much.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem left me roaring. 😁
I enjoyed both. My favorite is the first, such perfect thoughts! I will say the proposal was welcome, as she'd already had one of his children! No wonder her patience was tested, she'd been waiting a long time!
ReplyDeleteLove your interpretation of both Renoir and Botticelli! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe humour in these delights!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI can't stop laughing! Both of these are brilliant! Well done Rall!
ReplyDeleteLOL, luv the mood of both your poems
