it became apparent
fairly quickly
this was not a match
made in heaven
all the signs were there
neither of them had been
to a hairdresser for months
the hellish rot
had set in
the buzzing flies made merry
on the festering corpse
of their relationship
the bats had left the belfry
time to go
time for hair cuts
slam shut the book
closed
end of story
Yes the festering corpse of their relationship....I think many a relationship has been in this kind of ruins. A great take on the image Rall! The metaphor in this works so well.
ReplyDeleteWe all have one of those stories, and the scars to show for them! Well written.
ReplyDelete"time to go" is the most sensible approach to life. Not everyone has this wisdom.

ReplyDeleteAs my favorite Aunt used to say ... "And there you have it!"
ReplyDelete"neither of them had been / to a hairdresser for months" - LOL! Yep!

ReplyDeleteThis is so true. Love can start out pretty, but it can end so messy.
