tell me
that this geometrical precision perfection and artistry
of a nautilis shell was a random result of a big bang
along with all the other perfect mathematical design
creations in nature
tell me
that a poppy unfurling emerging
from its green furry bud casings
dropping silently on to the coffee table
is merely a botanical phenomenon
tell me
there is no magic in the fairy wren
it's all random
with everything having a scientific explanation
and now tell me
there is no God

Well, I for one won't be telling you that. I agree that the wonder and intricacy of our Earth is neither unseen nor random.
ReplyDeleteFor heart says it is God and mind says it is science!
ReplyDeleteHow incredibly beautiful and deeply thought-provoking ….
ReplyDeleteI can't, of course, tell you that there is no God, for I'm a believer too.
ReplyDeleteNature is full of so much magic. And your poem sings of it so well.

love that description, like the way the words kind of swirl out in a geometric echo of the shell, very well written
