christmas new year
come and gone
only the flowers remain
the testing kits are out of stock
the boosters are out of stock
omicron stays
wearing his little party hat
clapping his hands and laughing
the numbers are rising
the hospitals are bursting at the seams
everything stays open now
no restrictions
it's freedom you see
and most importantly
the economy
(mammons box of tricks)
must thrive
priority of a faux christian prime minister
priority of a faux christian state premier
meanwhile the white hot pitchfork
is awaiting them
protective clothing wont make a difference
Earthweal Open Link Weekend # 99
It's always the economy, the politicians keeping one eye on that and the next elections. And the PRC's trade war with your country is not helping things.
ReplyDeleteI am glad I have my booster shot already, and over here we are starting to vaccinate younger children (age 5 onwards) but there seems to be some resistance from parents against vaccination.
May you be safe and healthy in 2022.
You have nailed the madness. The economy will soon fall apart under the repeated extreme weather events. We saw that in BC this year, given heat domes, wildfires and then absolutely massive flooding. Not to mention the pandemic. Capitalism costs way too much. Yet folks are greedy, especially at the top level.
ReplyDeleteYou have capture the absurdity of the pandemic. Testing kits are non-existence here but, the politicians all go their free kits. It cost about $23 for a box of 2 tests here and they keep telling everyone get tested. Well, how can that happen if there are no tests.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the moment we live in very well! JIM
ReplyDeleteWe have a similar christian state premier in the state of Florida, defiant of the science and biblical in his rightwing raptures. 350,000 new cases in our state alone last week and he refuses to allow mask and vaccine mandates. Love the portrayal of Omicron as a happy runt in a party hat.
