she likes to water her garden
at twilight listening to
the wind chimes tinkle in the leafless tree
by the gate
pondering on all the poems she is writing
if you are running late
best hedge your bets and arrive
with a big bunch of roses
you wont want to be on the receiving end of
one of her cold withering looks
besides
most of the time rosemary is a sweet heart

I love that first verse. Makes me want spring to hurry and get here.
ReplyDeleteNice one. Luv your interpretation of the prompt
ReplyDeleteMuch🖤love
Well, well! I see you have been not only reading but remembering my poems over the years, and noticing various things about me from my online presence. How could I be anything but flattered?
ReplyDeleteI love the 'most of the time....' (I hope I am sparing with the 'cold withering looks' – but I am a Scorpio, so....)
I love what you've created here.
This is so clever, so wonderfully fun ~~~
ReplyDeleteRosemary sounds tough on the outside, but all warm and tender on the inside.
ReplyDeleteI share Rosemary's attitude for those running late!! Luv your poem.
ReplyDeleteMost Rosemarys I have met I liked. There might have been
ReplyDeleteone I didn't but that is out of my mind most times now.
I enjoyed reading this, both literally and in context.

Roses can do such a lot of good
