she remembers the feeling
dim now and decades ago
swinging from the chandeliers
didn't happen often
but sheer joy when it did
they walk on by
going from a to b
the never ending rush
to be somewhere
the empty modern life
from which few escape
the only one who gives some
recognition is the hairdresser
who wonders where
she got her colour done
