Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge # 326

 Close and Open (synonyms)

 Shadorma

 shut the door

draw back the curtains

look outside

that poor kid

so stoked with his brand new shoes

we are filled with shame

takes little

to make him happy

poor darling

most of us

have too much wealth and money

 no good comes from it

  2. Happiness is surely found in the little things. Then again, those new shoes were probably a very big thing for that boy.

  4. Most are bored with their far-too-many shoes but for those who have none one pair means the world and fills the heart with joy and feet with gratitude.

  5. Henry Thoreau said it beautifully "our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify." Love your shadorma.

  6. You picked a good subject to fit the Shadorma, it fit well.
    Good Job!!
This could be me. At the beginning of every school year I was given a new pair of shoes. Also overall s and Mom may have made me a new shirt from a nice feed sack.
Below is a rundown of my first eight grades at school. I am the boy in the back row of the picture in 6th grade. I have a detailed description of the eight pupils in our school. Four of us were cousins.

  7. Little Goodman Two Shoes? Before children go to school they actually *like* getting useful things as presents.
