I watched the entire video. Imagine coming to strange shores alone. It could have gone either way for this boy but caring people pulled him through. Thank you for sharing his inspiring story. Hopefully the Visa issue worked out, too!

ReplyDeleteHe sounds like a good kid. Actually all the immigrants I've known, in the US, were good neighbors to have too...but I'm glad Australia still has room to offer them and can enjoy being hospitable, because in the US it's getting harder every year.
ReplyDeleteI once posted on my blog that, if any Syrians were being persecuted for being Christians, they could stay with me. At the time family members stood by that, too. Now those family members are gone. I could still offer space to spread out sleeping bags on the floor, but...food? School, as in a Christian one where the kids have seen a foreigner before? Mercy. People hate and fear immigrants, some people worry about immigrants from the places their grandparents immigrated from, because we have nothing to offer and don't want to find ourselves living the way they were in wherever they left.
Last week I posted about opposing gun bans because I didn't like young men being shot in the back during my city's trial gun ban. It's the same thing about immigrants. For years I claimed one as a brother (he was able to save up money and go home in style!) but, BECAUSE I care, I oppose any stupid talk about immigration being a guaranteed right.
But it is a blessing still to have room for them. Glad for you!
All guns should be banned...They are in many other countries. I feel very sorry for the American people who are forced to live with the constant fear of gun violence. They do not deserve to live like this. I hope one day somehow they will be able to live without fear from being shot by a deranged loony and enjoy the freedom of other gun free nations.....Rall
