What's Going On....Cameo Form

 2583872

sometimes

i remember how

mum danced with dad in the kitchen

t'was so sweet

a gentler time secure and simple

childhood free from war and strife

thank god

times change

more catastrophe

war imminent on the middle

 eastern front

all of us will  be affected

adversely this time- when will

it end

  1. The second poem is a reminder that all is not sweet. But I love the peace that flows in the first.

  2. "a gentler time" Sigh. Yes, thank God some of us had untroubled childhoods. Parents dancing is a great image--I had that too.

  3. I love the first stanza which took me back to a simpler time. The second reminds us where we are now. The contrast is staggering. Sigh.

  4. I love the image of parents dancing in the kitchen in a simpler time. Peaceful! Today's news in the Middle East is just the opposite!

  8. It’s powerful, the way you captured that treasured moment and peaceful times in the first poem, Rall, and the contrast with the second poem.

  9. I wish I had a memory of parents dancing, how sweet, especially against the backdrop of today's news which is unrelentingly bleak.
