Friday Writings...# 156

70s hippy chick

talk about

innocents abroad

so many

adventures

scare myself thinking about them

a big thank you

to my guardian angel

travelling deck class across the equator

when i was young

 they told me

i could do anything

i could be anything

i believed them

don't think they had this in mind

reading a magazine in bed

rather than only finding the time

to do so in a doctor's surgery

is a dream of mine now

at some stage

probably will never happen

i dream of a quiet life

with lots of time on my hands

i want to know what it means

to be at a loose end

i want to experience the luxury

of being bored

  1. A relaxing holiday would be nice in an adventurous life. :)

  2. Oh yes, I can so relate! To both the youth and age sections of this. (I was already a young mum in the seventies, a bit too old to be a hippy chick though it would have been right up my alley — but I remember situations a little further back, in my own youth, which I waltzed into in blithe naivety, and now thank my guardian angels for getting me safely through.)

  3. Kids are never bored these days. They need to be forced to be bored!
