THE HEART REMEMBERS... RALPH VAUGHAN WILLIAMS (1872 - 1958)
the english folk song suite
evokes images ofsticky puddings
spotted dick
toad in the hole
bubble and squeak
peaches and cream complexions
fair hair'd blue eyed lasses named
millicent and harriet
hooray henrys in bowler hats
with furled umbrellas
stiff upper lips
cricket on the village green
knitted teapot covers and cosy pubs
a world long gone

You are right, this music does evoke those very things!
