Yes, my grandma is who taught me, too, and it sure came in handy. I LOVE that painted cabinet. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift to have been bestowed - and how glorious the outcome
ReplyDeleteI love this! That phrase (silk purse out of a sow's ear) was thrown around our house a lot, too. It was Mom who took a whole lot of nothing and made a home of it.
ReplyDeleteThis is me, Susan!
Delete"enforced creativity" does bring about originality and comfort. Lovely memories. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother was the same; we learned so much from them and look at the beautiful things we surround ourselves with, ‘colourful original and cosy’. I love that kind of decorating – a gorgeous cabinet.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have such a colorful and cosy house with so many things homemade. Your grandma sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love redoing and repurposing. My house is filled with them. Your grandma, what a gift.
